Izzy Mongu!

This assignment was a very confusing one. At first I wanted to make it look like Isabelle was laying flat on the screen, but it didn't turn out well. While trying to do that, Ms. Reidel told me to rotate the pictures around so it would have more of an effect to it, and I found out that the lockers in the background looks very interesting if you put them on a certain angle! In doing that, I decided to re-do everything and make it look like she was walking down a narrow hallway. Since I had taken 15 photos of her from all different angles, I used that to my advantage to make the lockers and her body look like they were going in different directions. In conclusion, the result of my Cubism Digital Montage photo looks like Izzy Mongu, ( Isabelle Mongu ) is walking down a narrow hallway. :)

My Poetry Cover :)

My poetry cover is very simple and easy to follow. It’s basically a ‘What you see is what you get’ kind of picture. Before I began working on this assignment, I brain stormed for ideas of how to portray ones thoughts, expressions and poetry. Well, you can portray thoughts and expressions though poetry, so how do you describe or show poetry? You are able to describe what’s on your mind, how your feeling through a pen and paper. Write it down, draw it out or create a diary. I’m not a big fan of reading, but I have read the Twilight Saga, and the author came up with the story through her dreams. She expressed her dreams through a book which became number one. You can also draw, paint, or mold what’s on your mind. Thoughts may also be called imagining. You can imagine things and picture them in your mind and then get it onto something someone else can see. That way they can understand what is going on through your mind. The hardest part in doing that is getting what’s in your mind, onto paper. After I grabbed all the photos I needed for this assignment, I made it so that it was easy to follow with your eyes. Starting from writing, painting, drawing, molding, doodling and story writing. I made sure each of the photos were the same height and width, then added on a light border. On the left hand bottom corner I added in a stack of books, because those basically summarizes everything in a nutshell. The large pen that’s more on the right side of the photo is the most common and fastest way to express yourself. Overall I am very satisfied with the outcome!

What Do You See?

An Irregular Heartbeat
This painting has no certain pattern or shape. Just random colours splattered everywhere and through the center is a white jagged line. Its suppose to represent a heartbeat. The message I tried to portray in those paining is that your life is colourful, be thankful for the vision your given and the heartbeat is to say your there, your alive.

Your Own Colourful Sea
In this painting, there are three fish and a whale. The water they are swimming in is in the pattern of a rainbow. ''ROY G B(i)V'' In this painting i tried to portray a family. The two top fishes are suppose to be the parents, and the one at the bottom. The whale is suppose to be a pet or a best friend. I would have added more fishes so that it would be like siblings, but there wasn't much room. I painted this photo in soft light colours so that it would represents that life is easy going and positive if you allow it to be. Don't make things complicated and just go with the flow! You have your family and friends around you who will always be there for you.

Are you Surreal?

So Close, But So Far Away

My Surrealism Portrait is very simple. It’s a photo of a sunset, taking from someone’s point of view by standing next to the water and on the sidewalk. In this assignment, we were required to place an egg, clock, streetlight and an egg with a clock on it. It was very hard finding a spot on this photo to place the objects! I had trouble trying to get it to balance and even out without anything taking the focus away from the egg (sun). Being able to change the opacity of the objects was very useful. With that I was able to somewhat an object in the sky and in the windows. In the sky there is an egg with a clock in it to show that time flies. I also tried to make it look like it was being pulled into the sunset because that means that the nights coming and the days over. I titled it, ‘So Close, But So Far Away’ because when I was placing in the streetlights it didn’t look right, but when I was fooling around with the sizes it suddenly looked like they were getting smaller the farther down the sidewalk it was. I then adjusted the lighting to the streetlights so that if you were to be standing there you could only see the shadow or figure of the streetlights. After I was finished and felt as though I’ve completed this assignment the first thing that came up in my mind was how close the sun was, but then again it was so far away. I believe this is by far the most complicated assignments we were given to do because it required a big imagination and patients.

Andy Warhol Style

For this assignment, I choose to use the most recent photo of myself taken off of Facebook. When we first started this assignment I was very confused and didn't know how to do anything! After fiddling around with the tools I found the threshold adjustment and finally got a start on my assignment. Cutting the background out was easier then I thought it was, ever since Mrs. Reidel taught the class about the 'Magnetic Lasso Tool' deleting things have become easy. I used to use the magic wand and take forever to remove a background !After picking out my colours, I realized that you can only hold two colours at once. I solved this problem by opening a word document and saving the code and opacity of the colour. At the end of it all, I am very satisfied in the outcome! :)

Karina's Advent Poster

Keeping Christ in Christmas
For our assignment, also known as our 'Advent Poster' I decided to create a mixed theme. One of the themes used for my poster is the beach in the winter time. I choose the beach because when you look out at a beach, you can't see the other side. It makes you wonder what’s out there, or what’s out there for me? It also shows that Christmas is coming soon, and that is the time of advent. There is a girl standing looking out at the beach in summer clothes. I choose to add her in the photo because it makes the picture have more meaning. It seems as if she's been wondering ever since summer, instead of winter. It has more meaning because she is looking out into the beach and there is also a picture I have added in of a cross. It is meant to portray that the girl is looking out into the beach and thinking and wondering about Christ out lord. I choose Luke 2:10-11 ''Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord,'' because since you can't see the girls facial expression it could look like she's afraid, hopeful and waiting for
Christ the Lord.
